Marie Laney Davis

Marie Laney Davis, age 67, of Marble, NC died Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at the Valleyview Care Center in Andrews, NC.

She was a native and lifelong residence of Cherokee County, NC. Marie was a homemaker, and loved her family. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Murphy, NC. She was the daughter of Neily McTaggert Laney of Murphy, NC and the late Gid Laney. She was preceded in death by her brother, Jim Laney.

She is survived by in addition to her mother, her husband, Ralph Evans Davis; two sons, Phillip "Pee Wee" Davis and his wife Amy of Marble, NC and Gary Davis and family friend Bud Turner both of Andrews, NC; two brothers, Bill Laney and Wayne Laney both of Murphy, NC; two sisters, Barbara Kephart and Louise McDonald both of Murphy, NC; very special granddaughter, Hayle Davis and step-granddaughter, Amanda Goode and 16 nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service and burial will be held at 4:00 PM, Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at the Little Brasstown Baptist Church Cemetery in Brasstown, NC. Rev. Bobby Lovingood will officiate.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in memory of Marie Laney Davis to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 1151, Murphy, NC 28906.
